Cambridge-based graphics middleware developer Geomerics has appointed Rob Precious as its new vice president of sales. Geomerics credits his appointment to unprecedented demand for evaluation copies of its Enlighten software. The Enlighten Software Development Kit, Geomerics' first product, provides "real-time radiosity" and promises a new level of of naturalism, authenticity, and versatility for video game lighting effects on next-generation consoles and PCs. Providing instantaneous feedback to developers, the middleware application should reduce development overheads at the lighting stage and open up possibilities for generating mood and atmosphere, as well as allowing new opportunities for non-photorealistic lighting approaches. Geomerics CEO Gary Lewis commented on Rob Precious' appointment and Enlighten's demand, “We are delighted to welcome Rob as our Vice President of Sales. His years of experience and deep understanding of the middleware sector will be invaluable in the months to come. As such, Rob is fantastic addition to our already stellar team, which will be the driving force behind Enlighten’s success.”
