Norman was just brought to life recently, and is still under development. However, you can be friends with Norman Fistula on his facebook page. He would be more than happy to have you as a friend.

I have been working on the Norman project off and on for some time now, but it is all coming together finally.  Norman is our company mascot so to speak, so I really wanted him to look good.  There is so much that has went into building him that there is no way to cover it in a single blog.  You could literally write a book about his construction.  Anyhow, one of the smallest, yet challenging pieces to build was his vertebra.  After examining several anatomy books I found no real way of using a template to make one.  A vertebra has got to be one of the most complex biological things to model.  I didn't even know that there are two tube like holes on each side for blood vessels and the like.  Not to mention that I thought that the spinal cord ran through the center like a tunnel.  Not so.  Anyhow, here is a real, anatomically correct vertebra model used as a reference object for all of Norman's vertebra.

Norman's Vertebra

Isn't it weird that the plural for vertebra is vertebra......kinda like sheep are plural for sheep.  Hmmm.... so I could say I used vertebra from sheep and you wouldn't know if I used one vertebra from one sheep, tons of vertebra from one sheep or tons of vertebra from a heard of sheep....stupid.
