Monument Valley's lead designer Ken Wong has today announced the founding of new studio, Mountains

Based in Melbourne, Australia, Mountains is described by Wong as a "craft games studio" with the aim of making "small, beautiful games."

"I'm excited to be drawing from all my experiences across different roles in order to build a more creative and healthier type of games company," added the founder.

"We're starting by putting people first. Great work will follow from that."

Joining Wong in his native Australia are Kamina Vincent, formerly a producer at Tin Man Games, and programmer Sam Crisp, who won the Best Visual Art Award at the Freeplay Independent Games Festival 2015 for his work on Movement Study 1

The studio's first game will be a premium mobile title slated for release in 2017.
