The recently-established World Video Game Hall of Fame at the Strong Museum of Play has announced its second round of inductees: The Legend of ZeldaThe Oregon TrailSonic the HedgehogThe SimsSpace Invaders and Grand Theft Auto 3.

These six games will join last year's six inaugural Hall of Fame inductees (which span the gamut from Pong to World of Warcraft) in a permanent display at the museum, which means they'll become part of a very public celebration of the game industry and the impact its members have had on contemporary culture.

This latest round of inductees was whittled down from a list of 15 finalists (including everything from Tomb Raider to Final Fantasy) compiled earlier this year and based (in part) on public nomations.

If you believe a game should be honored in the World Video Game Hall of Fame, you can nominate it from now through next February for consideration in the next round of induction, which is set to take place next May.
