Newsbrief: Waplesoft, a South Korean mobile game studio known for producing social games, has been acquired by Gamevil for an undisclosed sum and will continue an ongoing shift towards developing mobile RPG games. The deal falls in line with Gamevil's ongoing efforts to consolidate the Korean mobile game market; this time last year Gamevil had just completed a string of studio acquisitions, including Everpie, Nine Wheels and com2us. The strategy seems to be paying off for the company, which reported strong year-over-year sales growth in its most recent earnings report and recently opened a new office in Singapore that will focus on the growing Southeast Asian mobile game market.
