Mobile social giant Gree has had an internal reshuffle, with Andrew Sheppard - formerly the company's COO - being appointed CEO of the Japanese firm's rebranded Western subsidiary, Gree International Entertainment (GIE).

Formally known as Gree International, the renamed San Francisco chapter will now "focus on creating games that reflect a broader view of the gaming entertainment landscape."

With Sheppard on the move Ryotaro Shima has been appointed COO, with Naoki Aoyagi now serving as an advisor

GIE will continue to support its current line-up of games, including Modern War and Knights & Dragons, while also working on brand new IPs due to be announced later this year.

"It's an honor and a privilege to be appointed CEO at such an exciting time when the company is transforming from a mobile games company to a major player in the larger interactive entertainment landscape," said Sheppard.
