Arkadium hires game design VP to oversee casual titles

Casual game developer Arkadium (Mahjongg Dimensions) has hired game industry veteran Stephen Jarrett as its new vice president of game design.

Newsbrief: Casual game developer Arkadium (Mahjongg Dimensions) has hired game industry veteran Stephen Jarrett as its new vice president of game design. Jarrett has worked in the industry for 16 years, leading design teams at companies like THQ, Disney Interactive Studios, Heavy Iron Studios, Namco Bandai Games America, and most recently Nickelodeon. He was also a designer at developers like Argonaut and Bullfrog in the mid-to-late '90s. At Arkadium, Jarrett will oversee the company's game design for all of its supported platforms. Founded in 2001, the developer has released more than 300 casual and social titles for PC, web, mobile, and Facebook. It reaches over 8.5 million unique users each month with its games. Along with bringing in Jarrett, Arkadium hired eight new employees to work at its offices in New York City, Toronto, and Ukraine. It currently employs over 130 workers.
