Bitsummit, the leading independent game development festival in Japan, returns this year in Kyoto on July 11th and 12th.

Newsbrief: The third BitSummit festival will return to Kyoto on July 11th and 12th. The newly formed Japan Independent Games Aggregate (JIGA) will oversee the planning and execution, with help from Indie MEGABOOTH, who has run events at PAX Prime and East.
Last year, the event was attended by over 5000 people and 100 developers.
BitSummit was originally founded by developer James Mielke -- he writes about why here, on his Gamasutra blog. Next Level Games' Brian Davis attended the event last year to speak, and his post about it will give you a taste of the event.
