Opinion: How will Project 2025 impact game developers?
The Heritage Foundation's manifesto for the possible next administration could do great harm to many, including large portions of the game development community.
Nothing special this weak - just a little updateness.
Hey folks, still keeping this stuff short and sweet for the time being. Last week was a lot of asset exporting. Not sure if I've mentioned this yet, but the last lege of our pipeline is... well... there are a lot of steps involved in exporting models from maya to gmax and then out in a format that FSX can understand. I'd love to sic some programmers on the pipeline - you know, ask them nicely to make some export tools - but we don't have the resources to commit to that kind of work.
Other than that it's pretty much been business as usual. Artists finish assets, I export them.
I've been doing a little bit of what I would call production work. Not as much as I'd like, but the situation is what it is and, as always, you've got to allow yourself to adapt and meet the needs of the project as best you can. The good news is that now that we have stronger ties to the client communication back and forth has increased exponentially. So much so, in fact, that we're probably going to be re-working the project schedule for December. It's taken a little while but we are gradually catching up.
