Facebook has launched App Center, a new feature for the site that's designed to make it easier for users to discover and install games and applications on their smartphones. App Center resembles other digital marketplaces like iOS's App Store and Android's Google Play, except it's designed to introduce users to games and applications on the social network. Available on the website and Facebook's iOS/Android apps, it offers a curated list of recommended games and apps, as well as a list of apps that users' friends have installed, top rated apps, rending apps, and top grossing apps. If users are browsing App Center on their desktop and find a mobile game that they want to try out, they can push a "Send to Mobile" button to have the game ready to install on their phones. App Center has launched on Facebook with over 600 apps including Zynga's Draw Something, Halfbrick's Jetpack Joyride, and Ubisoft's Ghost Recon Commander. It will release in other territories in the coming weeks.
