Charity speedrunning event Games Done Quick is organizing an impromptu fundraiser this weekend to help support those affected by Hurricane Harvey.

Houston has been hit hardest by the storm, with floods and strong winds causing serious damage and forcing many people to flee their homes.

The event will be streamed over the weekend, and if all goes to plan should kick off on Friday at 8 p.m. EDT, before finishing 48 hours later. Anyone keen to take part can volunteer to speedrun a game of their choosing using this form.

So far, Harvey Relief Done Quick has received game submissions from over 350 runners, so there should be plenty of quickfire playthroughs on the horizon. The group is still looking for a charity partner, but expects to have that issue ironed out soon.

You can keep tabs on the event, and find out how to tune in and take part, by following the Games Done Quick gang over on Twitter.
