Newsbrief: A group of experienced game developers and investors in Brighton have taken the wraps off their latest launch: Gunjin Games, a mobile-focused studio led by former Big Bit CEO Nick Baynes. Baynes shares Gunjin directorial duties with longtime colleagues Matt Ritchie and Guy Mills. The three worked together in leadership roles at Big Bit (the studio formerly known as Roundcube), which produced mobile games like Re-Volt and Ariel's Musical Surprise. Prior to that they were leads at the now-shuttered Split/Second developer Black Rock Studios. Going forward, Gunjin is expected to ramp up production on its first mobile title after securing initial funding from a range of investors, including game industry businessmen Nick & Rick Gibson as well as U.K. games industry entrepreneur (and Psygnosis cofounder) Ian Hetherington.
