The Media Indie Exchange is giving independent developers space at GDC Next in L.A. next month to showcase their games to industry professionals and members of the press attending the conference. They're not alone, either -- Puzzle & Dragons developer GungHo Online is hosting its own indie game showcase alongside GDC Next, which takes place the first week of November. Unlike GungHo's Indie Games Live event, The MIX will actually have space on the GDC Next show floor. Much like the well-established Indie Megabooth, The MIX aims to increase the visibility of up-and-coming indies by banding them together under a single unified banner at large industry events. Games being exhibited at this year's GDC Next under The MIX banner include: - Antihero by the Antihero team - Dex by Dreadlocks - Homesick from Lucky Pause - Neverending Nightmares by Infinitap Games - Nova-111 from Funktronic Labs - Paperbound by Dissident Logic - "Skullduggery!" by Clutch Play Games - StarCrawlers from Juggernaut Games - Tumblestone by The Quantum Astrophysicists Guild The MIX got its start in 2012 in San Francisco, where the inaugural event was organized by indie developer evangelist (and Gamasutra contributor) John Polson, game industry veteran Joel Dreskin and Interabang Entertainment (Super Comboman) cofounder Justin Woodward. It has since hosted indie developers at a variety of events, including the SIGGRAPH computer graphics conference and last year's inaugural GDC Next.
