Kickstarter games have raised over $100M (and other fun stats)

Games have exploded on the dominant crowdfunding platform following last year's successful funding of Double Fine Adventure - the $83 million raised in 2012 is over 25 times that pledged in 2011.

Newsbrief: Money pledged toward the Games category on dominant crowdfunding platform Kickstarter has surpassed $100 million, according to the company. The category -- which includes both video games and board games -- has seen 1,476 games successfully funded by 633,242 backers. Games took off on the platform, as many know, following Double Fine's successful "Double Fine Adventure" campaign last year.
