The British Academy of Film and Television (BAFTA) wants to establish a new virtual reality advisory group to explore the impact VR might have on the game, film, and television industries.
The group will be spearheaded out of Los Angeles, with its insights being used to inform BATFA's activities around the world.
It will primarily explore the ways in which VR can be incorporated into BAFTA's broader remit to "celebrate, develop and promote the art forms of the moving image.
AMD's corporate vice president for technology and content, Roy Taylor, will chair the board and oversee its efforts.
"We are hugely excited to be providing a platform for discussion on VR's significance across all the creative industries, BAFTA's role in celebrating excellence in this field, and, crucially, how we can support the next generation of talent to find new ways to work with this medium," said Nick Button-Brown, chair of BAFTA's Games Committee.
BAFTA has opened the doors for anyone working in the technology and creative sectors to apply for a position within the group. Those interested can find out more right here.
