The Swedish firm, which owns Nordic Games Publishing (We Sing series), will keep Game's branding for its chain. Started in 1999, the Scandinavian business employs some 270 workers, and serves an estimated 600,000 customers. In 2011, Game Group's Scandinavian operations generated 450 million SEK ($61.9 million). Nordic Games says it's executing a new strategy with the video game retail chain, and expects to make them profitable this year. UK-headquartered Game Group has struggled in recent months after suffering credit issues and filling for administration, Britain's equivalent of Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the U.S. Private investment firm OpCapita acquired the company last month.
