Kouki Kita, the talented artist behind classic titles including Waku Waku 7, Galaxy Fight, and Genji, has passed away.

Japanese developer-publisher Sunsoft Games -- one of Kita's former employers -- broke the news on Twitter, and thanked the artist for his contributions during his time with the company.

Waku Waku 7 was recently re-released on the Switch, and it's hard not to fall in love with the game based on its visual flair alone.
