Oculus is incentivizing game developers to bring their Unreal Engine 4-powered virtual reality games to the proprietary Oculus Store via a new deal with UE4-maker Epic Games.

The move is attractive to UE4 VR developers who want to keep more cash from sales of their games. Oculus VP Nate Mitchell (pictured) said at Oculus Connect in San Jose that beginning today, Oculus will cover all royalty fees for Unreal Engine titles shipping on Oculus Store for up to the first $5 million in gross revenue per game.

Unreal Engine users typically pay Epic royalties of 5 percent of gross revenue after the first $3000 per game per calendar quarter. UE4 is free to use for non-commercial games.
