Newsbrief: Last Friday, developer Davey Wreden marked the one-year anniversary of The Stanley Parable's release by confirming via Twitter that the award-winning walking simulator has sold over a million copies. The game, which was written and designed by Wreden and fellow Galactic Cafe developer William Pugh, was released on Steam last October to wide acclaim and multiple award nominations. The experience took a toll on Wreden, who later wrote about the challenges of dealing with unexpected financial and critical success in a heartfelt post on the Galactic Cafe website. For more insight into the game's development, you might appreciate Wreden's talk about spending four years working on The Stanley Parable in this GDC 2013 indie games panel, and the detailed postmortem of the game's launch that Wreden published on his Gamasutra blog.
