Opinion: How will Project 2025 impact game developers?
The Heritage Foundation's manifesto for the possible next administration could do great harm to many, including large portions of the game development community.
Do you wish you had open source, self hosted, easily extendable, and massively cross-platform game analytics?
tl;dr: we want to add analytics to the open source tools at playtomic.org and you can help.
Playtomic began as an analytics platform and grew into a wider suite of services before shutting down. Most of those services - leaderboards, user content, dynamic content - and some awesome new ones - achievements, newsletters - have been rebuilt into an open source, self-hosted library at Playtomic.org.
Next on our plan is adding the powerful analytics platform we've been building at lvlboost.com into this package to provide developers with another amazing tool they can build on with the confidence of knowing it will exist as long as they do.
Feature changes and company shutdowns affecting tools we build into our games as critical dependencies have affected countless developers and rendered many games inoperable. We're building the tools you need to take control and ownership of your backend in a way that is proven and affordable to scale, designed for easy management, and compatible with any platform you're building games on.
Currently we support HTML5, iOS, Android, Unity3d, C# and Flash games with thorough documentation and test suites, on a server written in NodeJS that any experienced developer can play with, and a streamlined setup that even the most novice of game developers can wade through.
Free and open source.
