Promotional Games in Car Showrooms

An interesting idea to drive car sales

Here's an interesting idea for a promotional game. Car companies sell cars. Some of their sales are generated online. Most of them are generated offline, at auto showrooms and dealerships.

What if, we could get an iPad kiosk into a showroom, load it up with a branded game, and collect sales leads? How valuable would something like this become?

Imagine a busy Tesla showroom, with 10 sales reps 100 visitors. The ratio of sales reps to visitors is 1:10. That's quite low, and it's hard for reps to make meaningful sales conversations. Most visitors will idle around, kicking the tyres and if they're really interested, wait in line to talk to the next sales rep for 5-10 minutes.

That's quite a number of lost sales potential, just for 100 visitors.. Extrapolate this basic assumption by the number of visitors in an entire day, and we get a ton of lost sales opportunities amounting to millions of dollars.

What if, there were 10 iPads stationed around the showroom. It would contain a fun casual game, Tesla-branded. Let's say, it's a whack a mole game. Players whack the moles in order to win a small prize, that they can redeem at the gift counter. If they do well, they get a priority pass to a free Tesla Model 3 test drive. In order to redeem the gift, players have to provide their basic contact information, such as name, email and phone number. The iPad can also display information about the Model 3 via interactive videos

How would this affect sales conversations and brand engagement? For starters, this would more/less double the number of sales representatives. An iPad now functions as a robot sales rep. It's able to provide emotional connection via a casual game, dispense information, AND collect lead information! Plus, the entire experience is crafted, and the data team can track each visitor's progress through the funnel. How awesome would this be?

I think having iPads as robot sales reps can increase sales by double digits easily. That easily equates to millions of dollars for car companies like Tesla.

Let's take it a step further. What if, the future holds for iPads mounted on self learning robots, that can talk back to the potential customer? That's both a human and a computer in one.

This is a future i'm keen to live in.
