Rhythm Game Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Extend Tops Japanese Charts

Sega's Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Extend, the next in the popular rhythm series for PSP, sold nearly 200,000 units in its opening week, launching it to the top of the Japanese weekly software sales charts. For the week ended November 13, data from tracking firm Media Create, and as reported by NeoGAF, shows that the latest in the series sold a total of 184,673 in its opening weekend. The top three was made up of new releases for Sony consoles, with Capcom's Sengoku Basara 3: Utage for PS3 in at number two, and Sony's Ore no Shikabane o Koete Yuke on PSP taking up number three. Last week's number one Super Mario 3D Land was forced down to number four, although it still sold a respectable 93,441 units, bringing its total units sold in Japan to nearly 450,000. Other new releases this week included the Wii version of Sengoku Basara 3: Utage at number six, Konami's Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD Edition at seven and PokePark 2: Beyond the World at eight. Naughty Dog's Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception saw the largest drop this week, falling nine places to position 11 from its high number two in the previous week.
