Hiroshi Kawano, president and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Japan, will retire from the company at the end of this month.
Hiroshi Kawano, president and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Japan, will retire from the company at the end of this month. Kawano joined Sony back in 1985, and has held various roles at the company over the years, including general manager of Sony Europe, and senior vice president of Consumer Sales. The Sony veteran has been a key figure in the launch of the PlayStation 4 worldwide, as well as the man in charge of the PlayStation brand in Japan. According to a press release from SCE this morning, Atsushi Morita will take the president role starting from September 1. Morita was previously a member of the board, and vice president of administration and control at the company.
