With Scotland in the spotlight recently over its rejection of independence, the country's video game industry is apparently in rude health.

Newsbrief: With Scotland in the spotlight recently over its rejection of independence, the country's video game industry is apparently in rude health. According to a new report from UK trade body TIGA, the Scottish video game development sector currently has the highest overall headcount, tax revenues and investment compared to the last five years. There are around 100 game studios in the country, suggests the report, and around 1000 creative staff working in games. Meanwhile, the Scottish industry is contributed roughly £99 million ($161.4 million) to the UK GDP in 2013.
