Opinion: How will Project 2025 impact game developers?
The Heritage Foundation's manifesto for the possible next administration could do great harm to many, including large portions of the game development community.
Stillfront CEO Jörgen Larsson believes Jawaker has "significant scaling potential."
Free-to-play game company Stillfront has acquired Abu Dhabi-based mobile studio Jawaker for $205 million.
Stillfront said the move will expand its presence in the "strategically important" MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region. The deal also bolsters Stillfront's game portfolio, with Jawaker currently operating over 30 titles through its eponymous Jawaker app.
"The Jawaker team have built an impressive studio adopting a one-app approach that allows users to play several different games within one app, while connecting with friends and socializing, creating strong engagement and loyalty within the user base," said Stillfront CEO, Jörgen Larsson.
"We see significant scaling potential for Jawaker as a part of Stillfront, with opportunities to fuel user acquisition both in the MENA region and among the Arabic speaking population worldwide."
Stillfront raised SEK 1 billion ($115.7 million) to finance the acquisition, which comes just a few months after the Swedish company purchased idle mobile RPG Crush Them All from Godzilab. Looking ahead, Stillfront expects Jawaker to generate minimum net revenues of SEK 270 million ($31.2 million) during the current fiscal year.
