Who said video gaming is wasting time!?

Don-Ay, the first ever donation videogame produced by Affinity Project is a challenge, a dream we are trying to realize to connect the world of charity and gaming, something never done before in a thriving business where monetization and micro-transactions are talked and discussed every single day by videogame media. So what is a Donation Game anyway? Don-Ay is realized by trying to match the perfect mix between the mere utilization of the game and an automated generation of donations destined to a Non-Profit Organization, Best Friends Animal Society, that shelters dogs and cats, just like Pegi, our former stray dog and pet that gave us an inspiration to create a videogame which – hopefully - help other homeless animals, giving them shelter, medical attention and food.

But how?

We give two ways to donate in Don-Ay. First of all simply by playing our game! The content of Don-ay is the same for people willing to donate and people who are just using our product to enjoy themselves. By meeting banners during the game, the player donates to the Best Friends Animal Society, just by having fun, playing and finishing our levels. Those banners are not invasive, and the game will go smoothly, maybe putting a smile on people’s faces with acknowledge of their time spent for a cause.

Community

Being a part of a community gives the player a double reward source, a long term one, because helping a cause is nothing if an ideal isn’t shared with someone: for us, advertisements aren’t something just for revenue anymore, it’s the direct way to donate, and your views are transformed in donation points letting you show how much you care. The other way to donate is by buying game currency: this isn’t a premium coin, and items aren’t locked only by purchasing with real money.
ALL the content in Don-ay is obtainable by playing and the money spent on our game is for a big percentage donated to the NPO above mentioned. We are against predatory use of microtransactions and we always will as this game is focused on helping this NPO to grow, reaching new ways – and more modern, if you allow us - of funding. The same game is made to help out the ideals of the NPO (Pets will only be fed by pets’ edible food for example).

The player doesn’t not only give, they receive too. By playing our game, all of our players receive information from the NPO, getting news on how their donations are being spent, so one of the most important thing for us will always be transparency between Best Friends Animal Society, us the developers and the player. The same Donation game will be a marketing channel and retention.
This is our mission and our way to improve, in our little way, the pets we all love. Don-ay will be available very soon the AppStore and Google play.
