Newsbrief: Zynga founder Mark Pincus can't seem to stop founding things. Six months after stepping away from his role as Zynga's chief product officer, the serial entrepreneur has launched a new venture: Superlabs, a loosely-defined incubator that could produce anything, including games. "At Zynga, it felt like Christmas morning (or Chanukah dinner) when we launched a new feature or game that we thought our players would love," writes Pincus in Superlabs' inaugural blog post. "This same spark motivates us at Superlabs. Our core focus is products that connect and empower people." The company is funded by Pincus and seems to be designed to work as an incubator for new startups and products, though Pincus took pains to sidestep the "incubator" moniker in an interview with Re/code. Though he is best known for cofounding social games company Zynga in 2007, Pincus has a history of launching technology startups, including software support company Support.com in 1997 and social network Tribe.net in 2003.
