Newsbrief: Microsoft today announced a new installment in the Age of Empires series -- and it's the first to be built specifically for touch devices. Age of Empires: Castle Siege is due for release next month on Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 devices, and is in development from Smoking Gun Interactive, the studio that previously worked on numerous Kinect-based games. The game will comes with in-app purchases available. Age of Empires fans don't appear to be entirely happy, with the comments sections of both the announcement blog post and the YouTube trailer filled with complaints.
