Andy Payne, owner of PC game publisher Mastertronic Group and chairman of UK trade group UKIE, has received an OBE as part of the New Year Honors List for 2012.
Newsbrief: Andy Payne, owner of PC game publisher Mastertronic Group and chairman of UK trade group UKIE, has received an OBE as part of the New Year Honors List for 2012. Payne was honored thanks to his contributions to the games industry, including his work with games charity GamesAid, and told news website MCV that he felt "truly surprised, honored and very proud." "I would like to thank all my workmates at Mastertronic, Just Flight, The Producers, BAFTA, Just Trains, Get Games, UKIE, GamesAid and AppyNation who I work with," he added. "I am truly thankful to have worked with so many fabulous people down the years and am proud of our great industry."
