[Every week GameSetWatch editor-in-chief Eric Caoili rounds up the latest news/media for obscure and offbeat games from Gamasutra's sister site and alternative video game blog.] Over at our recently resdesigned alt video game blog GameSetWatch, we shared a number of fun stories during the past week, including an online Puzzle Bobble released in Korea with social gaming elements, an expensive-looking Transformers pinball trailer, and more. GameSetWatch's highlights from the last week: Puzzle Bobble Online Goes Live in Korea - Created in cooperation with Korean online gaming service provider Neowiz, Puzzle Bobble Online mixes Puzzle Bobble's color-matching gameplay with a variety of social gaming elements. Players can join guilds and participate in score challenges, among other features. The Digital Game Museum Makes An Appearance At PAX - Dedicated to the preservation of gaming's past, The Digital Game Museum brought its neat travelling showcase to PAX Prime this year, offering interested gamers a look into the history of the adventure genre, with plenty of early artifacts on display. Classic Konami Intros Given The HD Treatment - YouTube user rickonami hs produced several awesome HD versions of intros from classic Konami games like Gradius and Castlevania. They're quite classy; the polygons are expertly rendered to retain the look and feel of the original sprites. Genesis, Saturn, Dreamcast, And Puyo Cases For Your iPhone 4 (pictured) - Because so many diehard Sega fans are happy to spend all their money in the pursuit of having everything they own be a tribute to its systems, and because companies are just as happy to take advantage of that weakness, we now have these iPhone 4 cases. Machinarium Slated For iPad 2s On Sept. 8 - Amanita Design's visually distinct point-and-click adventure game Machinarium, winner of the Independent Game Festival's Excellence In Visual Design award, was submitted to Apple's approval group earlier this week and will release for iPad 2s on September 8 if that process goes smoothly. Stern's New Transformers Pinball Machine Has a Fittingly Slick Trailer - The new Transformers movies aren't the highest quality offerings (neither are some of the franchise's games), but perhaps Stern's upcoming pinball table will redeem the robots in disguise -- the company even put together this excellent trailer for the Transformers machine.
