[Every week GameSetWatch editor-in-chief Eric Caoili rounds up the latest news/media for obscure and offbeat games from Gamasutra's sister site and alternative video game blog.] Over at our recently redesigned alt video game blog GameSetWatch, we shared a number of fun stories during the past week, including the Storage Wars episode that featured a $13,000 NES, Hideo Kojima teasing Zone of Enders 3DS, "the Michael Bay's Transformers of iOS trailers", and more. GameSetWatch's highlights from the last week: Storage Wars Hunter Assumes Janky NES Is Worth $13,000 - In the latest episode of A7E's Storage Wars, high-roller Mark has paid $925 for a locker auction, and finds it's mostly filled with junk like cell phone accessories, a propane stove, guitars, and audio equipment. But then he thinks he's struck gold after discovering an old NES '001' model. What's Kojima Tweeting About This Time? Why, ZOE 3DS (Possibly) And Boktai - The latest tweets from Kojima Productions head and Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima playfully hint at a Zone of Enders 3DS project (or he could just be teasing the poor fans of the mechan series), and shared shots of the developer's proposal for the Boktai games on GBA. Why Does Demon Cam's Trailer Exist? - "A friend forwarded me this video, noting that it could possibly be the 'best game trailer ever.' I agree with none of those words (this thing's barely even a game), but it's still remarkable, if just for the fact that so much effort went into promoting a 99-cent mobile app." The Good, Bad, and Ugly of Western-Themed C64 Games - "As it turns out, there were an awful lot of Commodore 64 games that were set in the Wild West. If you always wanted to explore 19th-century America through 1980s computer games but didn't know where to start, this roundup should tell you all that you need to know." Gas Station Registers Ringing You Up With A Familiar Sonic Sound Effect - "I thought I was crazy when I first heard what sounded like the 'Ring' sound effect from Sonic the Hedgehog at a local gas station months ago, but now there's video proof that cash registers across the country have been playing the familiar chime." Black Ikaruga Ship Model Coming, Video Of White Kit Assembled - "You can't really have a plastic model for the white version of Ikaruga's titular shoot'em up ship without having its black counterpart, which is why Kotobukiya is planning to release an alternate version of the striking 1/144th scale kit in Japan this October."
