Unreal Engine 3 maker Epic Games will be hosting two full days of tutorials on use of the Unreal Development Kit as part of an Unreal University sub-event at next week's East Coast Game Conference. James Tan and Markus Arvidsson, from The Ball developers Teotl Studios, will lead hands-on sessions on making everything from iOS racing games and side-scrolling platformers to level editors and realistic clothing using the free UDK. Australian student-led studio //No Comment will also be on hand to share lessons learned using UDK to make last year's Sp.A.I, a third-person puzzle platform game. Now in its third year, the two-day East Coast Game Conference (previously know as the Triangle Game Conference) starts Wednesday, April 13 and will include keynotes from legendary designer Mark Cerny and Nvidia Senior VP Tony Tomasi. Seven different tracks of sessions on topics from business to programming will include speakers from Bungie, Insomniac Games, Red Storm, Nether Realm, Vicious Cycle, Playdom, Junction Point and more.
