Gunpoint's Tom Francis has begun a series of video tutorials on how to start creating a game in Game Maker Studio with no previous experience. The series is entitled Make A Game With No Experience, appropriately.

The former games journalist met with an impressive amount of success with his debut game Gunpoint, which was made with Game Maker Studio in his spare time.

The tutorials, which have two parts so far (part one above), are having their source code published as Francis goes. Aimed at aspiring game makers, the first video details how to make a room with a single controllable sprite. The second helps you get to a point where you can get that sprite shooting, with basic top-down aiming.
