Xbox 360 exclusive Forza Motorsport 2 has consolidated its success at the top of the UK sales chart with a second week at number one. Despite sales dropping by 34 percent, the racing simulation remained ahead of a number of high profile movie licenses and Codemasters’ new rally racer. Although only 183 sales separated Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End at number two and Tomb Raider: Anniversary at number three, the entire top five was unchanged from the previous week, except for new entry Colin McRae: DiRT at number four. Despite being the spiritual sequel to the popular Colin McRae Rally series (primarily seen as a PlayStation franchise), the game sold just over half that of Forza Motorsport 2 on Xbox 360. A PlayStation 3 version of the game is due in September. While Nintendo continues to have the greatest number of titles in the top ten, the only other new entry this week is Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer at number eight, which is likely to move higher in subsequent weeks as the movie opens across the UK. There are no brand new entries in the rest of the top forty, although retail discounts have seen Medal of Honor: Vanguard on PlayStation 2 and Wii re-enter at number eighteen. PlayStation 2 exclusive God of War II re-enters at number thirty-one, while The History Channel: Great Battles of Rome debuts at number thirty-four on PlayStation 2, PC and PSP - a week after its initial release.
