Forza Beats Pirates To Finish Line In UK Charts

Despite a mediocre performance from the first game in the series, the release of Forza Motorsport 2 has proven more successful than expected in the UK charts, becoming the third fastest selling Xbox 360 title ever behind Gears of War and Pro Evolution Soccer 6. It has also become the fourth fastest selling game on any format this year, behind only World of WarCraft: Burning Crusade, Final Fantasy XII and Resistance: Fall of Man. As a result, and after only one week at number one, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End has fallen to number three, albeit separated from Tomb Raider: Anniversary by only 1,000 unit sales. Another surprise is Shadowrun at number eleven, which, despite generally poor reviews, has moved up one place from its debut last week. The only title to actually increase its sales over the previous week is Wii Play at number five, with sales up 14 percent. The only other genuine new entry in the top forty is budget priced mini-expansion pack The Sims 2: H&M Fashion Stuff at number eleven. However, Wario: Master of Disguise makes its debut in the top forty at number thirty-one, after being first released two weeks ago, while The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess re-appears at number twenty-four and Red Steel at number forty. Surprisingly, there is no place in the all formats top forty for Halo 2, with the PC version debuting only at number five in the PC-only software chart.
