Sony Santa Monica's God of War III debuted at the number six position on Japan's weekly sales charts, as Koei's Fist of the North Star: Warriors led with 415,000 units sold, Media Create reported Thursday. For the week ended March 28, Koei's licensed Dynasty Warriors-style manga-based 3D brawler sold 385,000 units on PlayStation 3 and 30,000 on Xbox 360. The PS3 version easily led overall unit sales charts for the week, while the Xbox 360 version captured the number eight spot. Sony Santa Monica's acclaimed PS3-exclusive God of War III sold 43,000 units for the week, enough for a place on the charts. The only other new game to make a top 10 debut this week was Saki Portable for PSP from Alechemist. Games to fall off of the Japanese software top 10 from last week were the PSP games Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce 2 from Koei, Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman! 3D from Sony and God Eater from Namco Bandai. Also falling off the chart was Square Enix's DS role-playing game Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies (Ultimate Hits). Below are the top 10 games in Japan for the week ended March 28 by unit sales, according to Media Create.
