Ziff Davis Media has announced the winners of its DigitalLife best of show awards, giving Activision's Guitar Hero III the top award in the gaming category, amongst other "most innovative, most useful, and most fun" products showcased on its show floor. Ziff Davis says the consumer technology showcase is meant to highlight a number of "digital lifestyle" products from "from cell phones, smartphones and a host of amazing new mobile services to digital cameras, GPS devices, desktops and laptops, to home theater equipment, tech toys for kids, video games, and safety and security tools." Said the company of Guitar Hero III, "The latest version of this interactive music game features a slew of new songs and an update on the guitar hardware. Any skeptics were quieted after visiting the boisterous GH booth at DigitalLife and witnessing aspiring rockers of all ages jamming out with a smile." Hewlett-Packard's Blackbird 002 PC hardware took the best hardware category, with other winners including Zipit's Wireless Messenger 2 IM device, Ford and Microsoft's Ford Sync in-car communication and entertainment system, and Hasbro's FurReal Friends Squawkers McCaw Parrot animatronic toy. Said Ziff Davis VP Monica Vila, “This year’s Best of Show winners represent some of the most exciting technology products on the horizon. The quality and quantity of new product announcements at this year’s show indicates that DigitalLife continues to evolve from being a great venue to interact with consumers to an industry gathering place, and one of the year’s major focal points for technology and lifestyle press.”
