Infamous is getting a movie. In a reported seven-figure deal, Sony Pictures has picked up a pitch from screenwriter Sheldon Turner to develop a film based on the Sucker Punch-developed PlayStation 3 exclusive. According to a Hollywood Reporter story, Sony Pictures -- sibling, of course, to the gaming arm of the megacorporation that published Infamous on its platform -- is working out a rights deal for the game. Turner wrote the screenplay for "The Longest Yard" remake, and also has a comic book project in the works, among other projects in development. "What excited me most about the game was it was the first of which I've come across that had a big idea and a character arc," Turner said. "It is, I believe, the future of gaming. The game, while big and fun, is at its core a love ballad to the underachiever, which is what our hero, Cole McGrath, is." Producers Ari and Avi Arad produced "Iron Man" and "The Incredible Hulk," and notably are also producing a film adaptation of Sony's Uncharted: Drake's Fortune for Sony Pictures.
