The Heritage Foundation's manifesto for the possible next administration could do great harm to many, including large portions of the game development community.
After weeks of dominance by Nintendo titles the UK sales chart has returned to a more familiar master, with regular Electronic Arts franchises such as Medal Of Honor, Tiger Woods and The Sims all performing well in the top forty.
After weeks of dominance by Nintendo titles the UK sales chart has returned to a more familiar master, with Electronic Arts occupying five places in the top ten, including the number one spot. The debut of Medal Of Honor: Airborne at the number one spot in both the individual and combined format charts is of little surprise, with sales of Bioshock falling by 59 percent in the game’s third week. The Xbox 360 version of Airborne has outsold the PC considerably at 69 percent to 31 percent. The surprise success of the week is SouthPeak’s Two Worlds, whose successful marketing campaign – which stresses its similarities to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - has overcome almost universally poor reviews with a debut at number four on the Xbox 360. The other new entry of the week in the top ten is also an Electronic Arts game with Bon Voyage, the latest expansion pack for the PC version of The Sims 2 entering the charts at number six. Also of note for Electronic Arts is the performance of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08, which is only 78 units behind Medal Of Honor: Airborne in the combined charts. While the Xbox 360 version has fallen from number five to number nine over the course of the week, the Wii version has risen from number nine to number seven. Outside of the top ten the highest new entry is Worms: Open Warfare 2 on the Nintendo DS at number twenty-one, with an 80 percent jump in sales on its first week. Electronic Arts’ Boogie on Wii has also seen a strong second week, with a rise of ten places to number eleven. Stuntman: Ignition on Xbox 360 is up five places to number thirteen, with the PlayStation 2 version up twenty-one places to number sixteen. Capcom’s Monster Hunter Freedom 2 has performed a little better than its predecessor, with a debut at number twenty-nine, while interest in the ongoing World Cup sees Electronic Arts’ Rugby O8 on PlayStation 2 re-enter the top forty at number thirty.
