Spider-Man 3 Webs Top Spot On GameFly Charts

This week's top rental charts from U.S. game rental company GameFly, representing the most requested games for the week ending April 27, highlight both to-be-released and already released games in a unique demand-specific chart. GameFly subscribers continued to show their eagerness for Activision's upcoming release of Spider-Man 3, debuting this week for all platforms. The movie tie-in accounted for the top two requests across all platforms for the week, followed by Electronic Arts' upcoming Xbox 360 port of Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars. What follows is a break down of the top titles requested by GameFly subscribers across each of the major platforms: Nintendo Wii 1. Super Paper Mario (Nintendo), 2. Spider-Man 3 (Activision), 3. Cooking Mama: Cook Off (Majesco), 4. Prince of Persia: Rival Swords (Ubisoft) 5. Sonic and the Secret Rings (Sega) Once again it was Nintendo's Super Paper Mario that remained on top of the Wii chart for the week, while Activision's ever-popular Spider-Man 3 climbed from last week's fifth position to take second for the week. Xbox 360 1. Spider-Man 3 (Activision), 2. Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars (Electronic Arts) 3. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (Buena Vista Games), 4. Mass Effect (Microsoft), 5. Shadowrun (Microsoft). Spider-Man 3 again ranked on top of all Xbox 360 requests for the week, followed by EA's port of Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars. Fan anticipation for Microsoft's upcoming Mass Effect fell slightly to take the fourth position, while Microsoft's upcoming Shadowrun climbed in to take fifth. PlayStation 3 1. Spider-Man 3 (Activision), 2. F.E.A.R. (Vivendi) 3. MotorStorm (Sony), 4.Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (Buena Vista Games), 5. The Godfather: The Don's Edition (Electronic Arts). Spider-Man 3 managed to swing into the top position above all other PS3 requests for the week, knocking the latest port of Vivendi's F.E.A.R. into the second position. Sony's Motorstorm, last week's fourth most requested PS3 release, was found in third place on the weekly chart. PlayStation 2 1. Spider-Man 3 (Activision), 2. God of War II (Sony), 3. Red Star (XS Games), 4. Odin Sphere (Atlus), 5. Dawn of Mana (Square Enix). Spider-Man 3's dominance continued on the previous generation's consoles as well, with the movie tie-in taking top honors among PS2 requests. New entries on the weekly chart include Atlus' action RPG Odin Sphere in fourth, and Square Enix's upcoming Dawn of Mana in fifth. Xbox 1. Halo 2 (Microsoft), 2. Scarface: The World Is Yours (Vivendi), 3. Ninja Gaiden Black (Tecmo), 4. Black (Electronic Arts) 5. Madden NFL 08 (Electronic Arts). After falling for two straight weeks, Microsoft's Halo 2 climbed back to the top of the original Xbox chart, moving Vivendi's Scarface to the second position. Madden NFL 08, the upcoming next edition in EA's long running NFL football franchise, capped off the top five Xbox requests for the week. GameCube 1. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Nintendo), 2. Mario Party 7 (Nintendo), 3. Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (Nintendo), 4. TMNT (Ubisoft), 5. Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness (Nintendo). The GameCube request chart largely remained unchanged from last week, with The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess topping all requests for the platform. The only new addition to the chart came in the fifth position with Nintendo's own Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness. Nintendo DS 1. Pokemon Pearl (Nintendo), 2. Pokemon Diamond (Nintendo), 3. Naruto: Ninja Council 3 (D3P), 4. Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords (D3P), 5. Spider-Man 3 (Activision). The Nintendo DS chart remained dominated by the recent releases Pokemon Pearl and Diamond, which took the chart's top two positions respectively. Activision's upcoming Spider-Man 3 ranked as the fifth top requested Nintendo DS release for the week. Game Boy Advance 1. Pokemon Emerald (Nintendo), 2. Pokemon Fire Red (Nintendo), 3. Pokemon: Sapphire (Nintendo), 4. Pokemon Leaf Green (Nintendo), 5. Final Fantasy VI Advance (Nintendo). Once more, it was Pokemon releases that dominated the Game Boy Advance chart, with Pokemon releases accounting for four of the five spots on the handheld's chart. Pokemon Emerald took the top spot for the week, while the fifth spot belonged to the one nonPokemon title in the top five, namely Square Enix's Final Fantasy VI Advance. PlayStation Portable 1. 300: March to Glory (Eidos), 2. MLB 07: The Show (Sony) 3. Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters (Sony), 4. Prince of Persia: Rival Swords (Ubisoft), 5. Valhalla Knights (Xseed Games). Finally, PSP requests were once again topped by Eidos' movie adaptation of 300, a game that has continued to dominate the portable's chart for the last several weeks in a row. Sony's MLB 07: The Show was found in the second place spot of the chart, while last week's second top requested PSP release, Xseed's recently shipped RPG Valhalla Knights, fell into the fifth position.
