This week's top rental charts from U.S. game rental company GameFly, representing the most requested games for the week ending September 7th, highlight both to-be-released and already released games in a unique demand-specific chart. This week sees the overall charts dominated entirely by Xbox 360 titles, with Midway's Stranglehold, formerly in the second position for two straight weeks, rising to the top spot, displacing BioShock to the fourth position. EA's Medal of Honor: Airborne moves up one slot to second place, and Halo 3 slides from fifth to third, making room for Activision's Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in spot five. What follows is a breakdown of the top titles requested by GameFly subscribers across each of the major platforms: Xbox 360 1. Stranglehold (Midway), 2. Medal of Honor: Airborne (EA), 3. Halo 3 (Microsoft), 4. BioShock (Take Two), 5. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Activision) The motion of the Xbox 360 charts is nearly identical this week to that of the all-platform charts, with the exception of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare nudging Blue Dragon out of the top five as it tumbles to eighth place. Nintendo Wii 1. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (Nintendo), 2. Carnival Games (Globalstar), 3. MySims (EA), 4. Mario Strikers Charged (Nintendo), 5. Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles (Capcom) Metroid Prime 3: Corruption marks the fourth week in a row for Samus Aran in the top spot among Wii requests, while Carnival Games holds steady at number two. Mario Strikers Charged steps down into fourth position from last week's third, to make room for EA's MySims a little over a week ahead of its release date. About a month ahead of its release date, the highly anticipated Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles boots Tiger Woods PGA Tour '08 out of fifth place. PlayStation 3 1. Heavenly Sword (Sony), 2. Warhawk (Sony), 3. Lair (Sony), 4. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Activision) 5. DiRT (Codemasters) Heavenly Sword edges into first position among PS3 game requests over third last week, pushing former leader Warhawk into the second spot. Lair takes a slide from second into third, and former fourth spot-holder DiRT slips into fifth, bumping out Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 and making room for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in fourth. PlayStation 2 1. Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror (Sony), 2. Stuntman: Ignition (THQ), 3. Naruto: Uzumaki Chronicles (Namco), 4. Jackass: The Game (Red Mile), 5. God of War II (Sony) Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror enters the top five PS2 requests this week at number one, nudging former first and second spot-holders Stuntman: Ignition and Naruto: Uzumaki Chronicles into second and third, respectively. God of War II slips from third into fifth, while Red Mile's Jackass: The Game takes fourth as Madden NFL '08 and Wild Arms 5 slip to sixth and eighth, respectively. Xbox 1. Halo 2 (Microsoft), 2. Madden NFL '08 (EA), 3. Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords (LucasArts), 4. Halo 2 (Microsoft)5. Ninja Gaiden Black (Tecmo) The first installment of the Halo trilogy reclaims a spot among the top five Xbox requests after losing ground to Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy last week. Ninja Gaiden Black slips from third into fifth, as Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords edges up from its position last week in fourth to take its place. GameCube 2. Metroid Prime 2: Echoes (Nintendo), 12. Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Nintendo), 3. Super Smash Bros. Melee (Nintendo), 4.Mario Party 7 (Nintendo), 5. Super Mario Sunshine (Nintendo) This week, Twilight Princess and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes swap places in the first and second slot for GameCube requests, with Super Smash Bros. Melee standing firm in the third position. Mario Party 7, at number five last week, now climbs into fourth position, with Super Mario Sunshine bringing up the rear and relegating Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition, which held that spot last week, to seventh place. Nintendo DS 1. The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (Nintendo), 3. Rune Factory: A Fantasy Harvest Moon (Natsume), 23. Brain Age 2: More Training in Minutes a Day (Nintendo), 5. Worms 2: Open Warfare (THQ), 4. MySims (EA) Though it's not releasing until October 1, The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass holds fast at number one this week, while former second-place holder Rune Factory: A Fantasy Harvest Moon switches spots with Brain Age 2: More Training in Minutes a Day. MySims takes the fourth place spot, bumping Worms 2: Open Warfare into fifth and edging Square Enix's Heroes of Mana out of the top five. Game Boy Advance 1. Pokemon: Emerald (Nintendo), 2. Pokemon: Fire Red (Nintendo), 3. Pokemon: Sapphire (Nintendo), 4. Pokemon: Ruby(Nintendo), 5. Pokemon: Leaf Green (Nintendo). The GBA request list is comprised once again of all Pokemon titles -- the same ones swap places a little, though. While Emerald holds the number one spot for the third straight week, Sapphire moves back down to third after climbing from third to second position last week. Ruby also slips down to number four after spending last week in the third spot, as Fire Red moves from fourth into second and Leaf Green, bumped off last week, returns to take the place of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team. PlayStation Portable 1. Monster Hunter Freedom 2 (Capcom), 2. Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Heroes (Namco), 3. Jeanne D'Arc (Sony), 4. Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 (Ubisoft), 5. Dead Head Fred (D3P) Monster Hunter Freedom 2 sticks at the top among PSP requests; while the last two weeks saw Jeanne D'Arc slide from first into second and then third, Jeanne gets a little resurgence as it moves back into the second spot, moving Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Heroes into third place. Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron climbs up into the fourth spot, replacing Ubisoft's Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2, while Dead Head Fred remains at number five again this week.
