Activision and Raven Software's Wolfenstein debuted at the number two spot on UK charts this past week, topped only by Nintendo's Wii Sports Resort, Chart-Track reported Monday. On the all-platform sales charts for the week ended August 22, Wii Sports Resort and the re-imagining of the classic first-person shooter series Wolfenstein bumped down Codemasters' Ashes Cricket 2009, which led the UK sales charts for the prior two weeks. Wii Sports Resort, a Wii-exclusive, beat the multiplatform Wolfenstein by just 2,000 units. Wii Sports Resort topped the UK charts for two consecutive weeks when it debuted on July 24 in the country. This is the third week in all that the game has claimed the top spot. On Chart-Track's all-platform charts, which includes unit sales of all versions of any given title, Nintendo games have a strong tendency to retain top 10 positions despite their age, giving credence to the company's claim that their best titles are "evergreen." Wii Fit (April 25, 2008 in the UK) and Mario Kart Wii (April 11, 2008 in the UK) both made the top ten this past week. According to Chart-Track, Nintendo has claimed the top spot on the all-platforms chart 15 weeks this year. UK Charts: All Platforms 1. Wii Sports Resort (Nintendo) 2. Wolfenstein (Activision) 3.
