The Heritage Foundation's manifesto for the possible next administration could do great harm to many, including large portions of the game development community.
Sony confirmed that Japan and Europe will be getting PlayStation 3s with 250GB hard drives, more than twice the size of the current "slim" PS3 model, packed with games such as Infamous and Uncharted 2.
Sony Computer Entertainment confirmed on Thursday 250GB versions of PlayStation 3 hardware for the UK and Japan, bundled with popular games. The company made the announcement during Tokyo Game Show in Japan this week. The new model retains all of the same features as the recently-introduced PS3 "slim" hardware, albeit with a hard drive that hold 250GB of data, as opposed to the current 120GB. The new model will hit UK shelves on October 1 for £284.99. The 120GB model retails for £249.99, according to a press statement from SCE UK. A separate press statement from SCE Europe said bundles will arrive at retail in October. The new PS3 will initially come bundled with the buyer's choice of Sucker Punch's latest effort Infamous, or two Platinum PS3 titles. On October 16, Naughty Dog's Uncharted 2 will also be a bundle option. On October 19, SCE UK said it will release a bundle with the Blu-ray movies Wolverine, Batman: The Dark Knight, and a Blu-ray remote. SCEE's separate statement said that other games, including but apparently not limited to Electronic Arts' FIFA 10 and Need for Speed: Shift will be available in a bundle. A 250GB PS3 will also come to Japan in the form of the PS3 "Final Fantasy XIII Lighting Edition" bundle. The sleek ceramic white hardware with a pink imprint of the character "Lighting" will arrive in Japan on December 17 for ¥41,600, with FFXIII packed in. The hardware launches day-and-date with the release of FFXIII. Gamasutra has contacted SCEA for confirmation of a U.S. 250GB PS3.
