Take-Two division 2K Sports has announced that its Top Spin franchise will make its Wii debut with Top Spin Tennis featuring what 2K calls "the most real life tennis experience to date for the Wii", in development by its Paris studio PAM and 2K Shanghai. The game will, of course, feature the requisite modified controls of the Wii Remote and Nunchuck controllers, with the latter controlling the player and aim, while the Remote controls racquet movement to perform top spins and slices. Expected to be released in spring 2008, 2K says the game will feature a number of modes, including singles, doubles, mixed and non-mixed matches, exhibition, and tournament, and four levels of difficulty. Also featured will be ten international venues and more than a dozen licensed real-life stars alongside 10 original characters, four player multiplayer, and a collection of party games. Said 2K president Christoph Hartmann, “We are excited to bring our popular Top Spin series to the Wii. Given the Wii’s unique controllers and the fun family-oriented gameplay, Top Spin Tennis effectively bridges the gap between a sports and a party game.”
