2K Sports has chose n seven new baseball players to promote and consult on Major League Baseball 2K10, including the Mets' Jose Reyes and the Mariners' Felix Hernandez.
2K Sports has announced partnerships with seven new baseball players for the promotion of its Major League Baseball 2K10, selecting athletes who will serve both as spokesmen and gameplay advisors. 2K Sports says it wants to create "the most authentic MLB video game to date," and to that end it's consulted: Oakland Athletics relief pitcher Andrew Bailey; Seattle Mariners starter Felix Hernandez; New York Mets shortstop Jose Reyes; Minnesota Twins first baseman Justin Morneau; Detroit Tigers starter Justin Verlander, LA Angels first baseman Kendry Morales, and Texas Rangers outfielder Nelson Cruz. "We look to partner with the top emerging talent every year to assist us in shaping our MLB 2K franchise," explains 2K Sports marketing VP Jason Argent. The developer has already partnered with Tampa Bay third baseman Evan Longoria as cover athlete. "Working with these seven elite players to ensure our product is up to their standards presents a fantastic opportunity for 2K Sports," adds Argent. "These players embody the 2K Sports brand, and we are excited to work with them on Major League Baseball 2K10."
