3DO Hires Firm To Help Sell Assets

3DO announced today that it had hired Alliant Partners as an advisor as the company decides whether to sell off its assets and/or reorganize.

The firm, which helps companies navigate through acquisitions and divestitures, previously worked on Avid's acquisition of Motion Factory and Corel's acquistion of MetaCreations, among other deals. Many analysts are doubtful that 3DO's assets, which include the Army Men franchise and the unfinished Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse game, will find a new home. 3DO filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on May 28.
