Opinion: How will Project 2025 impact game developers?
The Heritage Foundation's manifesto for the possible next administration could do great harm to many, including large portions of the game development community.
As publishers continue to up the ante with inane marketing ploys, it's easy to see that many of them believe that any press is good press.
Case in point: Acclaim's recent offer to pay speeding tickets of UK drivers in stunt to promote its upcoming game Burnout 2: Point of Impact. The company has offered to cover the traffic fines of any driver caught speeding on October 11, which is the launch date the game. The country's government was not amused by the ploy, however. Officials fear that the offer will only encourage reckless driving and could cause injuries and accidents -- for which Acclaim does not offer restitution.
