The first ever arrest of a software pirate in Africa occurred yesterday when South African police charged Russian born sailor Gerrit Lamprecht with selling thousands of copies of pirated game software and music discs. Lamprecht had advertised his wares in several local newspapers and faces a significant fine or possibly a jail sentence.
