The American Association for Artificial Intelligence (AAAI) have announced plans to hold the first annual Artificial Intelligence and Interactive Digital Entertainment (AIIDE) conference. Located in Marina del Rey, California, from June 1st – 3rd, 2005, the conference will target the research and commercial ends of the artificial intelligence (AI) community, as well as work on promoting AI in general. The event will have a number of presentations, demonstration sessions, exhibits, and guest speakers such as industry veteran and author of 'The Art Of Interactive Design' Chris Crawford, Maxis founder Will Wright and Electronic Arts chief creative officer Bing Gordon. Electronic submission deadlines for abstracts will close on January 23rd, 2005, and the full papers themselves by January 25th, 2005. Meanwhile, electronic submissions for demonstration abstracts will close on February 10th, 2005, with notification of acceptance or rejection occurring on March 7th, 2005.
