Developer Cecropia Inc. is launching an animation studio in Orlando, Fla., and plans to use it to finish creating its new brainchild: an interactive game that puts storytelling at the forefront. “Our team is bringing personality animation to life in an interactive story that allows players to participate in the actions and emotions of characters as they journey through an entertaining and meaningful storyline,” said Omar Khudari, the company’s founder and creative director, in a press release issued today. The Orlando studio is actively seeking employees, although Cecropia has amassed a roster of animators who formerly worked for Walt Disney Feature Animation. Disney veteran of more than 16 years and senior animator and story artist at Cecropia, Broose Johnson’s credits include animating lead characters in films such as Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, The Lion King, Mulan, and Brother Bear. The studio is expected to open next month.
